Between 1994 and 1998, Soprano assisted Optus with the rollout of its 2.0 GSM network. In 2000, Soprano began working with Telstra to enhance the latter’s Enhanced Information Services Platform to deliver standard and premium SMS alerts, as well as WAP push alerts and WAP pull services. This product had a 10-year run; its final version was released in 2010. In the same year, Soprano also launched the Soprano Corporate Gateway Platform (CGP), a product designed to enable high-volume, mission-critical SMS for Telstra’s largest messaging customers. In 2001, Soprano powered the first mobile payment transaction in Australia, and in 2002 began powering voting for the Australian Idol TV show.
